SOUL OVER EGO; it’s KALLITECHNIS’ daily mantra & reminder that our soul’s needs should always outweigh our ego’s wants.
She is a singer, songwriter, dancer, and visual artist from Park Ex, Montreal. Her work has spoken to her beliefs, and has garnered
acclaim from Complex, The Fader, Pitchfork, XXL, HNHH, Clash, Hypebae, Highsnobiety, and more.
The first song KALLITECHNIS ever released was Talk Talk Talk, a soulful boom bap R&B joint reminiscent of the 90's. At the time, it served as a tester for her to gauge if her music would resonate well with audiences. Thankfully, it did more than just that. It opened up the doors for opportunity. She resurfaced onto the scene with a feature on Lou Phelps’ KAYTRANADA-produced track, Average.
Her debut EP [wet paint] set a high standard, and her follow up, CHROMATIC revealed her brightest colours yet through playfulproduction, sophisticated songwriting and versatile vocals. Since then, her fanbase has significantly grown. This past year she has accumulated millions of streams, released music with Innanet James and Pusha T, she’s been mentored by the legendary Artist/ Producer/Songwriter & Executive Babyface, opened for Kelela and Sabrina Claudio, sold out her own headlining shows, and performed at major festivals: OSHEAGA, Ottawa Bluesfest, FEQ, and the Montreal International Jazz Festival (in front of 10000 people).
Her next project, Technicolo(u)r scheduled for release this Fall, is a testament to her flexibility in tackling multiple genres, and her exploration of the range of human emotion.
